Born in 1988, Karlo Magno Leonor is the second of two children and a native of Seattle. He is a student of philosophy and theology at the University of Notre Dame du Lac in South Bend, Indiana and a graduate of Todd Beamer High School in Federal Way, Washington.
Friends describe him as high-minded and light-hearted (he agrees), traits which are especially evident in his penchant for fine dining and excessive outbursts of levity (often expressed concurrently). With particular interests in all things related to the Church, the intellectual life, and outdoor grilling, Karlo is looking forward to fulfilling his college bucket list, which, among many items, includes an audience with the Pope (check, Spring Break ‘09), mastery of the Latin language, and eating a plateful of the tastiest baby back ribs (equally resplendent coleslaw included).
He is a lover of books, food, art, music, genealogy, dinosaurs, and myriad other things which reveal the one, true, good, and beautiful in life. In general, he prefers the old wine to the new, Christian culture to the drudgery of modern living, and the papercuts earned from reading smelly old books to the ease (and inhumanity) of gliding through Amazon’s Kindle. After university, he plans to travel the world, making extended stops in Italy, Spain, New Zealand, Greece, and the Philippines. To please his parents and finance these endeavors, he will eventually get a job. Eventually.
Karlo makes his home at Notre Dame in Dillon Hall — the “strongest, smartest, and humblest dormitory on campus.” He is currently in his third year of undergraduate studies.
